“It’s overwhelming!”
Miriam didn’t say how she would spend her accidental fortune.
She won the 18 March Powerball draw and collected her cheque from the Virginia Lottery two days later.
Miriam bought her winning ticket from a machine in the CVD drugstore on South Main Street in Blacksburg, Virginia.

In February, a lucky bloke bagged nearly £150,000 on the lottery after having a fateful dream.
Jamie Shedden, 54, who comes from Hamilton near Toronto in Canada, said: “I had a dream that the winning ticket was at the top row of tickets in the store.

“The store clerk knows me and knows I always pick the second ticket from the bottom.
“She went to pick it for me, but I stopped her and asked for the top row this time.”
The simple change led to Shedden becoming £ 145,927 (CAD 250,000) richer.
He said: “I’ll use this money to take care of my kids.”
