A super rare Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren – with no windscreen or roof – has sold for a record £2.5million.
Only 75 of the 219mph supercars were ever made 15 years ago.
The flash silver sports car has a 641 bhp, 5.4-litre supercharged AMG V-8 engine.
The sleek two-seater can do 0-60mph in just 3.5 seconds.

The design was Inspired by Sir Stirling Moss’ Mille Miglia endurance race victory in 1955.

It has only done 5,737 miles – just 382 per year.
But it has more than tripled in value because they were originally sold for £780,000.
It was sold at auction by RM Sotheby’s for a record price for the model.

However, there are a couple of drawbacks, it has no windscreen or roof.
This car was delivered new to Luxembourg before later being exported to the Middle East.
The action took place in Dubai last Saturday (9 Mar).

A 2016 Koenigsegg Agera RSR – capable of doing 273mph and 0-60mph in just 2.8 seconds – was bought for £2.6million – also a world record.
The first Aston Martin Valkyrie ever to go under the hammer was snapped up for £2.4million.
The 250mph motor is the most powerful ever made by the car maker.
An RM Sotheby’s spokesperson said: “The top seller of the night was the 2016 Koenigsegg Agera RSR.
“One of just three in existence, it proved to be irresistible to collectors.
“Powered by a 5.0 V-8 that produces an astonishing 1,160 horsepower, the example on offer had only covered 993 km and rightly deserved its world-record selling price.”
They added: “The second highest seller of the night was the 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss, the rarest variant of the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLarens.
“Another world-record auction price for the model.
“Rounding off the top three sellers in Dubai was the dramatic 2023 Aston Martin Valkyrie Coupé, the first of its type to be offered at auction.
“The most powerful Aston Martin ever produced.
