A pristine vintage Mercedes-Benz owned by the Gucci family has gone on sale for £85,000.
This magnificent 1969 280SL was sold brand new to Vasco Gucci – son of the fashion house titan Guccio Gucci.
The motor spent decades in the family’s possession but now needs a new owner.

And the successful bidder will receive a Gucci bag alongside the car, as reported by Whats The Jam.

A full three-year refurbishment took place until 2024 when the current seller relocated the Mercedes-Benz to the US.
It has been kitted out with a hair-raising 2.8-litre M130 inline-six paired engine with a four-speed manual transmission.
The motor can achieve an impressive top speed of 121mph.

In its prime, the 56-year-old car could go from nought to 60 in just 10 seconds.

At the time of sale, the motor has just 16,777 miles on the clock, averaging at just under 300 miles per year.
The exterior of the Mercedes-Benz is finished in a classy, medium blue metallic.

Buyers can choose between a matching pagoda hardtop and a blue soft top.

The interior features a Becker Monte Carlo radio with high-end cognac leather seats.
Bring A Trailer, which is hosting the sale, said: “This 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SL is a European-market example that was sold new in Rome to Vasco Gucci of the Gucci family.

“The car remained with Gucci through a move to Florida, and it later spent time in a collection in Germany before being acquired by the selling dealer and relocated to the US in 2024.
“This W113 Pagoda shows approximately 27,000 kilometres (16,000 miles) and is now offered with an owner’s manual, a documentation binder with service records, two sets of keys, a Gucci bag, and a clean New Jersey title.”
