The world’s oldest man has died aged 114.
Juan Vicente Pérez Mora passed away just two months before his 115th birthday.
The former farmer was confirmed as the world’s oldest man in May 2022 when he was 112-years-old.
A Guinness World Records spokesperson said at the time: “Juan Vicente has exceptional health and memory.

“He remembers his childhood, marriage, the names of his siblings, children and grandchildren.
“He loves to be surrounded by family and friends as they tell stories and engage in good conversation.”
Juan, who survived both World Wars, leaves behind 11 children, 41 grandkids, 18 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandkids.
He died peacefully yesterday (2 Apr) at his home in Venezuela.

His cause of death is currently unknown.
Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro said: “Juan Vicente Pérez Mora has transcended into eternity at 114-years-old.
“From the town of El Cobre, he gave Venezuela the Guinness Record for being the oldest man in the world.

“I send my hug and condolences to his family and to the entire town of El Cobre, Táchira State.
“May God receive you in His holy glory.”
His wife Ediofina del Rosario García passed away in 1997 aged 60.
Pérez, affectionately known as ‘Uncle Juan’, once said the key to his long life was enjoying a glass of aguardiente, a Spanish alcoholic spirit, every day.
He was born in the town of El Cobre on 27 May 1909, the ninth of 10 children.
At the age of five, he started working with his dad in agriculture and assisted with sugar cane and coffee harvesting.
He later became a sheriff and dealt with land and family disputes while still working in farming, as reported by What’s the Jam.
