KFC has unveiled plans for a futuristic restaurant where clients are served by an AI assistant, named Kala.
Restaurants will be adapted to fit the company’s ‘Digital Future Store 2.0’ vision.
KFC plans to provide customers with warmer and friendlier digital services.
As part of their new vision, self-service machines will be equipped with the Artificial Intelligence server.

She has been programmed with over 400 expressions to provide KFC users with a friendly, efficient service.
Kala can inform customers of the most popular meal deals and suggest suitable additional items.
She is also able to keep customers up to date with KFC’s latest products and offers.
Customers will be greeted by the AI representative as soon as they enter the restaurant, in Taiwan.

Kala will help them place their order and take payment before clients go to the ‘smart quick pick-up counter’ to collect their food.
Coupled with mobile phone scanning, quick ordering and other services, ‘Digital Future Store 2.0’ will provide diners with a “new and convenient digital experience”.
KFC Taiwan general manager, Xie Yifang said the initiative highlights the company’s vision for the future.

Their ‘Digital Future Store’ and ‘Delivery Sharing Centre’ were first announced in the second half of 2022.
‘Digital Future Store 2.0’ plans to offer a “warmer and more humanised service experience”.
