The iconic bullwhip used in the filming of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade has gone up for auction with a starting bid of $200,000.
The film prop was famously presented to King Charles at the premiere of the blockbuster in 1989.
Used in the production of the third film of the franchise, the David Morgan 450 series vintage bullwhip was handcrafted from finely braided 12 plait, kangaroo leather, featuring two plaited bellies and built over an 8″ steel handle foundation with wrist loop affixed to the pommel and features a whitehide leather fall and twisted, black nylon popper.

Indiana Jones whip expert, Daniel Borton, identified various scenes in which this particular bullwhip can be seen, as reported by What’s The Jam.

The appearance includes one during the sequences inside the Grail Temple as Jones is about to face three lethal challenges protecting the Holy Grail, and another as he enters the Grail Knight’s chambers.
It is seen again in a close-up insert of Indy kneeling down using the Grail cup to heal his father, Henry Jones, where the upper handle of the bullwhip is visible, showing the same alignment of the checkerboard ‘over one, under one’ plaiting pattern in the leather.
After it was presented to the then-Prince, Princess Diana gifted it to the current owner.
The bullwhip is now available with Heritage Auctions, with bids starting at $200,000, and comes with a letter of authentication.
