The crash landing was filmed at the Sultan Abdul Halim Airport in northern Malaysia on Tuesday afternoon (6 May).
The Royal Malaysian Air Force said the pilot was rehearsing ahead of the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2025, which is due to take place later this month.
It said the serviceman was carrying out an exercise for the “opening gambit” and escaped unhurt, as reported by What’s The Jam.
Air Force officials said a task force has been assembled to investigate the cause of the bumpy landing.
It led to the airport being closed for over three hours.

Malaysia Airports said: “Following an aircraft-related incident at 5pm today, the runway is currently closed to facilitate the removal of an RMAF aircraft and subsequent runway clearing works.
“A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued, and the closure is expected to continue until 10.30pm.”
It added that all flight operations would be impacted by the clean-up operation.
