Footy fans are concerned there may be a shortage of beer at Euro 2024 after a lorry shed its load.

It turned the street into a frothy river of lager.

Distressing scenes show dozens of beer boxes and broken bottles strewn across the road.

The entire road was blocked by the debris as frothy booze flowed into the roadside drains.

It happened on Siemensstrasse Street in the German capital Berlin at around 7pm yesterday (12 June).

The authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.

The truck was carrying £2 bottles of Berliner Kindl beer.

The Berlin City Cleaning Service was busy cleaning the street until after midnight, as reported by What’s the Jam.

The disastrous loss of beer has left many footy fans feeling heartbroken ahead of the Euros which starts tomorrow (14 Jun).

One local commented: “A true German misery.”

Another said: “Short minute of silence for the destroyed beer.”

“Why is there no trigger warning here? Not everyone can tolerate such images,” joked someone else.

Emma stated: “All hope is lost.”

Jens wrote: “Two days before the Euros!”

Uwe commented: “We now have to drink less during the European Championship.”

The host nation will take on Scotland in the opening game at the Allianz Arena in Munich at 8pm tomorrow (14 Jun)..

England will launch their Euros campaign against Serbia on Sunday (16 Jun).

Six games take place at the Olympiastadion Berlin including the final on 14 July.
