A couple fell into a giant sinkhole while enjoying a leisurely stroll.
The unsuspecting pair were walking hand-in-hand when the sidewalk opened up underfoot.

The man then helped his partner out of the gaping hole.
They both appeared unharmed as they walked to a safe distance and looked back at the chasm.
The lucky escape took in the Thai capital Bangkok on 9 March.
The sinkhole reported measured 10 feet in length, 8 feet in width and was 3.5 feet deep.
The authorities arrived on the scene to cordon off the affected area to prevent further accidents from taking place.

However, residents are said to be furious over the situation as the section of road was only renovated last month.
In response, the Thai authorities said the ground had been weakened by a water leak and have arranged for workers to fill the soil and repave the sidewalk.
They said they will also carry out a review to make sure a similar situation does not occur again.

The video went viral on Facebook with 1.8m views and nearly 2,000 comments, as reported by What’s The Jam.
One local said: “The road took such a long time to build and it’s already damaged like this!”

Another added: “The couple was lucky it wasn’t too deep and was mostly sand with no metal rods in it, but then again, things like this shouldn’t even happen in the first place.”

Bunjob said: “They should launch a lawsuit, even if it’s not for much, this is awful.”
