Fortnum and Mason is charging £1,000 for a box of six Christmas crackers and you must be 12 to use them

The luxury store, loved by the Royal Family, is renowned for its posh nosh.

But it’s The Regal Crackers that have left shoppers stunned.

Little plush presents in the cardboard Christmas table treats include a silver-plated tea strainer and a wood and sterling silver honey drizzler.

There is also the traditional festive lunch crown – but made of fabric, not paper – and a classic joke.

But little kids can’t use them.

The product description reads: “Majestic in both name and contents, these showstopping centrepiece crackers are almost too perfect to pull.

“But once opened, you’ll find a gift to treasure inside, from a silver-plated tea strainer to olive wood and sterling silver honey drizzler.

“Not forgetting a fabric crown and joke.

“Let the pulling of crackers commence.”

But it also adds: “You must be 12 or over to purchase and receive this product.”

One angry shopper said: “It seems more cracker woke than cracker joke.

“So young kids will be banned from using them at the table?

“And don’t get me started on the price.

“It’s crackers.”

The crackers do come in an F&M wicker basket.

Not to worry though, as delivery is free to soften the blow, as reported on What’s The Jam.

This isn’t the first expensive offering companies have started rolling out ahead of the big day next month.

Swarovski has unveiled their advent calendar for this year but costs a whopping £900.
