M&S is recruiting 11,000 Christmas workers to help its stores cope with the festive rush.
The temporary workers will support existing store teams as millions of shoppers stock up on party food, presents and Christmas dinner essentials.
Pay begins at £13.41 an hour, offering people the chance to earn some extra cash during one of the most expensive times of the year.

Applications for the seasonal roles are open now, with the first successful recruits expected to start from 25 October, as reported by What’s The Jam.
Current vacancies include customer assistant positions across M&S Food and its Fashion, Home and Beauty departments.
Some stores are also advertising overnight roles involving deliveries and preparing shelves before customers arrive.

Exact hours, shift patterns and contract dates will vary depending on the vacancy and location.
People interested in applying can search for nearby opportunities through the M&S Christmas careers website.

M&S said recruits would be given the training, tools and support required to get up to speed quickly.
Thinus Keeve, retail director at M&S, said: “Our brilliant store colleagues play such an important part in delivering the magic of M&S at Christmas, and we’re looking forward to welcoming 11,000 new colleagues to teams this year.
“Christmas is busy, fast-moving and a really exciting time to join M&S.

“We’ll give new colleagues the training, tools and support they need to get up to speed quickly.
“What matters most is bringing energy, curiosity and a real commitment to doing the right thing for our customers and working as part of the team.”
M&S is not the only major retailer embarking on a festive hiring spree.

Sainsbury’s and Argos recently announced plans to recruit 17,500 seasonal workers across supermarkets, convenience stores, warehouses and online fulfilment operations.
Its fixed-term contracts will last between four and 12 weeks, with in-store pay ranging from £13.23 to £14.54 an hour depending on location.
The John Lewis Partnership is creating another 10,400 Christmas roles, including 6,000 at Waitrose branches and 2,600 in John Lewis shops.
The remaining jobs will be based in distribution and supply-chain operations.
Seasonal retail jobs can sometimes lead to longer-term work, but applicants should check each advert carefully as contract lengths and the prospect of permanent employment will vary between stores.
