An Uber Eats driver has been spotted delivering a takeaway in a canoe.

The man was seen ferrying a food bag in a green boat while wearing the brand’s classic green jacket.

Hannah Smith said “If you’ve ordered Uber Eats.

“It may be a while.”

She spotted it on Saturday (31 May) on the River Lea, beside The Milk Float bar in Hackney, London.

The video has racked up more than 996,000 views, as reported by What’s the Jam.

Viewers found the bizarre scene hilarious and joked that the man was either taking the scenic route or trying to avoid clean air charges.

George said: “God forbid a man takes the scenic route.”

“I was pretty annoyed by it but I guess it’s just water under the bridge now.”

Kara Marni added: “Dang. That’s why my food came freezing cold and soaked with lake water.”

An Uber Eats spokesperson said: “While this isn’t our typical delivery method, we thought we’d bring a fresh take on alfresco dining to Londoners with our kayaking courier.

“Showcasing that Uber Eats is for any eating occasion.

“Our couriers are known for going the extra mile, but this one definitely chose the scenic route.”
