Tom Kerridge has been slammed over his £292 roast dinner at one of his posh pubs.

The TV chef is serving up the three-course meal at his Hand of Flowers eatery.

He calls it the “ultimate Sunday roast.

It costs £175, but with the recommended drinks, which incur an additional cost, the total price rises to £292.80 per head.

One foodie said, “How much for that?”

Another – named Alastair – added: “Far too much, £175 per person.

“Ludicrous.”

One called James said, “The food is great.

“I’m just not sure it deserves to be £175 great.”

The roast beef is bizarrely cured in treacle and comes with roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, cabbage and garnish.

Another questioned the portions and said, “Looks delicious.

“But I need carrots, swede, parsnips, and mash.”

Yet Ross Churchill said, “Wow.”

The Hand of Flowers – one of eight restaurants that double Michelin-starred Kerridge owns – is in Marlow, Bucks.

But the wines and whiskey raise the price.

Diners are encouraged to opt for El Aliso plonk for £27.20 a glass.

And a Banyuls Rimage dessert wine costing £15.60.

To finish off the fancy meal, a Triple Distilled, Single Malt Irish Whiskey – £75.00 – is recommended.

Kerridge, 52 – known for appearing on shows like Saturday Kitchen – said: “The ultimate Sunday lunch, when you think of it.

“It has to be roast beef and Yorkshire pudding.

“But this isn’t just any roast beef and Yorkshire pudding.

“This is Treacle-cured Chateau of Beef with a Yorkshire pudding.

“Stuffed with braised brisket, absolutely delicious, fantastic.

“Watercress, because of course you needed that lovely peppery garnish.

“A parsley emulsion, some spinach and a beautiful red wine sauce.

“With some proper crispy roasties, cabbage on the side.

David Bolan-Edwards poked fun at him, saying it sounded like a Marks and Spencer’s advert, as reported on What’s The Jam.

“Did anyone else expect ‘this isn’t any roast beef…’ this is M&S roast beef,” he quipped.

Kerridge added: “Cosy Sundays don’t get much better than this.

“Over at Hand of Flowers, the team is serving up the ultimate Sunday Lunch.

“Perfect comfort food for an autumn afternoon in Marlow.”

The starter options include Duck Liver Parfait or Glazed Omelette.

Puddings range from Creme Brûlée and Chocolate and Cherry Cake.

In June 2022, Kerridge was criticised for a similar fish and chips meal at his old Harrods eatery.

That was also £35, then 16 months later, he hiked the price to £37.
