A rare dust devil was spotted on a Welsh beach, leaving onlookers completely stunned.
Kara Bennet was on the sands at the time, and immediately whipped out her camera so that she could film what was happening.
The 39-year-old was “confused” after a whirlwind of sand began to swirl through the air.

Many people were sitting on the beach soaking up the sun at the time, as kids could be seen stopping in their tracks to witness the rare occurrence.
A person in the background of the video can be heard saying: “What on Earth?”.
Right after, the spiralling vortex began to sweep up peoples’ belongings, catching some clothing, towels and even a surfboard.
“We’d never seen anything like it before,” Kara, who was at Coppet Hall Beach in Pembrokeshire, Wales, told What’s The Jam.
“We were pretty confused and interested in what was happening.“

Kara sent the video to her friend Angela who is from Australia, and was immediately told that what she had captured is known as a dust devil.
According to the Met Office, a dust devil is an upward spiralling, dust filled vortex of air that may vary in height from a few feet to over 1,000.
Unlike tornadoes, dust devils grow upwards from the ground, rather than down from clouds.

They are rarely seen in the UK.
