A rare vintage Triumph left gathering dust in a garage for more than 30 years is now heading to auction – and could fetch £15,000.
The 1968 Triumph TR5 is being hailed as a dream restoration project for petrolheads, with the iconic motor still in completely original condition.
The classic car has been hidden away for decades, untouched since the day it rolled out of the factory.

And with fewer than 3,000 ever built, it’s a seriously rare find, as reported by Whats The Jam.
Only 2,947 TR5 models were produced during a short 13-month run.
Under the bonnet, the motor originally packed a powerful 2.5-litre straight-six engine delivering 150 brake horsepower.
Back in its heyday, it could hit 117mph and sprint from 0–60mph in just 8.3 seconds.
It also made history as the first British sports car to feature petrol injection.

Despite sitting idle for decades, much of the bodywork is said to be rust-free – making it an even more exciting prospect for restoration.
The classic will go under the hammer with H&H Classics at Pavilion Gardens in Buxton, Derbyshire.
Bidding opens on 29 April, with the rundown motor expected to sell for around £15,000.

A spokesperson for H&H Classics said: “This exciting ‘garage find’ restoration project is described by the vendor as being totally original with no panel seeming to have been changed since the car was first produced.
“The overall structure seems to be solid having been off-road stored for over 30 years, with a lot of the bodywork being mostly rust-free.
“The TR5 arguably featured the best combination of looks, suspension and engine of all the Michelotti-penned Triumph Roadsters.
“Amongst aficionados it is considered the most collectible of the series.”
