It turns out that there has been a rise in ‘genuine interest’ in vintage grocery items such as bags, crisp packets and wrappers.

The main source of the interest comes from collectors and wardrobe teams in film and TV productions, as reported by What’s The Jam.

The vintage items are used to help set the scene in period pieces, aiming for an accurate on-screen portrayal.

An Oxfam spokesperson said: “We have listed the vintage Hovis Country Grain bread bag for sale on Oxfam’s online shop because we’ve noticed genuine interest in vintage grocery items like bags, crisp packets and wrappers.

“Some people collect them, while others – like wardrobe teams for film and TV – use them as authentic props.
