Morrisons has been slammed for selling Christmas treats at knockdown prices already…in August.

The supermarket giant has put up its festive displays despite the country still basking in 26C (79F) temperatures.

It has half an aisle of yuletide products even though it is still just under FOUR MONTHS until the big day.

But Reese’s Trees and Maltesers Reindeer are already on offer.

They are usually 75p each but shoppers can get two for £1.

Morrisons More Card holders can also get further reductions.

These include £1 off £5 Toblerones and boxes of Maltesers that were £2.25 are just £1.50 now.

Cadbury Heroes and Roses are £4, down from £4.50.

Toffifee boxes can be snapped up for £1.50 from £1.80

They were spotted in the branch in Fleet, Hampshire yesterday (28 Aug).

One customer fumed: “It seems mad they are trying to lure people in with money saving deals.

“If they don’t think shoppers will pay the full price, why put them on sale so early.
“It’s bonkers.”

Full priced products in the Christmas display include packs of Morrisons own The Best pack of nine mince pies for £2.75.

It’s Rich and fruity Christmas pudding is £2.50.

Lindt Milk Chocolate Santas are £3.75 and tins of McVities Victoria biscuits are £5.

It comes after the supermarket giant was spotted selling mince pies in September last year, as reported on What’s The Jam.

A Morrisons spokesperson said: “We start selling mince pies a few months before Christmas because our customers tell us they really enjoy them.”

A Morrirsons spokesperson said: “We know that lots of our customers are already enjoying our Christmas range.

“While others are stocking up now to help spread the cost of Christmas.”
