Greggs fans are celebrating after a hugely popular bake made its long-awaited return to stores for summer – but many shoppers say there’s still one glaring issue.
The bakery chain has brought back its Red Pepper, Feta and Spinach Bake as part of its seasonal menu shake-up for 2026, alongside a range of new drinks, snacks and lighter lunch options.
Announcing the return, Greggs said: “The Red Pepper, Feta and Spinach Bake is back on our shelves, just in time for summer.

“It’s everything the name says it is, enclosed in our famous flaky pastry and topped with a cheese and tomato flavour crumb for the perfect, portable comfort meal.
“And it couldn’t come at a better time, really.
“The post-pub-garden walk home or beach day debrief is totally incomplete without this lightly spiced, gooey and full-of-flavour bake.”
The savoury pastry first launched last year and quickly became a hit with some Greggs fans thanks to its Mediterranean-style filling and crispy pastry shell, as reported by Whats The Jam.

Now, customers have been sharing their verdicts online after spotting it back in stores.

One person uploaded a photo of the bake and asked fellow shoppers: “So how are we feeling about the new red pepper, feta and spinach bake?”
“I think it’s b**** lovely.
“Could use a bit more feta though.”

And that appeared to become the most common complaint among Greggs fans.
One commenter replied: “It’s a nice change from their regular bakes, I do agree it needs more feta, I personally would like a bit more filling in general.”

Another wrote: “Wasn’t this around about a year ago?
“Have they at least upped the feta cause there was hardly any last time.”

Others said they were simply happy to see the bake return after it disappeared from stores following last year’s summer menu.
Greggs said all of its savouries are baked fresh in shops every day, adding that “chances are there’s a batch coming out of the ovens right now.”
