Dogs headed out with their owners to their nearest polling stations to put a smile on voters faces.
Pete Durrant, 38, went to mark his X with his companion Toby, a 10-year-old golden retriever.
In a post shared to X, formerly Twitter, pianist Peter from Withington, Manchester, can be seen standing next to a ‘polling station’ sign holding up his furry friend.

The post reads: “Whatever you do today, make sure you vote!”

Anna Skipwith, 54, shared pictures of her pup Tilly, surrounded by other dogs also waiting for their voting owners, as reported by What’s The Jam.
Anna, a digital marketing trainer from South London, said: “They are her friends!

“They mostly know each other, which makes the experience un-stressful for them.
“It’s a traditional photo we have every vote.

“We make it quick because we’re also aware some people are nervous of dogs.”
In the images 12 dogs can be seen patiently waiting outside of a polling station for their owners.

And dogs aren’t the only animals taken to vote. In the comments, one fan posted an image of their chicken waiting by the polling doors.

Some politicians also took their furry pals to vote.
Nigel Farage posted an image with his curly-haired pooch to X, captioned: “dogsatpollingstations”.

And London mayor Sadiq Khan put a video on X, with a caption: “Change only happens if you vote for it. A reminder to vote – and bring photo ID – featuring Luna!”
