Dogs headed out with their owners to their nearest polling stations to put a smile on voters faces.

Pete Durrant, 38, went to mark his X with his companion Toby, a 10-year-old golden retriever.

In a post shared to X, formerly Twitter, pianist Peter from Withington, Manchester, can be seen standing next to a ‘polling station’ sign holding up his furry friend.
