Chocolate lovers are celebrating after Sainsbury’s announced a “divine” bar will be included as part of the store’s meal deal.
Confectionery brand Ritter Sport has landed a spot in Sainsbury’s meal deal fixture for the first time and says it will become the only 100g chocolate brand available as part of the offer, as reported by Whats The Jam.
From July, Ritter Sport Coconut and Peppermint bars will launch across 515 Sainsbury’s stores as permanent confectionery aisle listings.

Ritter Sport Butter Biscuit will then roll out across 630 stores from August, including within the supermarket’s meal deal and front-of-store singles fixtures.
The new additions take Ritter Sport’s range at Sainsbury’s to 13 products.
Chocolate fans have already shared their love for the brand online.
One shopper said: “The milk chocolate with butter biscuit is divine. It’s one of my favourite bars, hands down.”
Another person added: “Nice chocolate, love their coconut/alpine flavours.”

A third person said: “The biscuit ones are addictive!”
Someone else added: “Some of the better widely available chocolate. I particularly like marzipan with dark chocolate and the hazelnut bars.”
A fifth fan said: “The mint one is a Mint Chip lovers dream.”

Benedict Daniels, managing director of Ritter Sport UK and Ireland, said: “These new Sainsbury’s listings make it even easier to discover Ritter Sport quality.
“Coconut and Peppermint bring proven, distinctive taste to the core aisle, while Butter Biscuit in the meal deal puts better chocolate within everyday reach.
“We know that once people try Ritter Sport, even just once, they repeat at record levels and that’s great news for shoppers, Sainsbury’s and the category.”
The Butter Biscuit bar combines Alpine milk chocolate with cocoa crème and crisp butter biscuit.
The Coconut variety features milk chocolate with a shredded coconut filling, while Peppermint pairs dark chocolate with a peppermint fondant centre.
Ritter Sport said the move is designed to increase the brand’s visibility across different shopping occasions, from confectionery aisle purchases to food-to-go missions.
The brand secured the new listings in an announcement made on 28 May.
