Two hot air balloons crashed during takeoff.
One balloon was lifting off from the ground when the wind suddenly changed.
It veered into another balloon – ripping into the aircraft’s nylon as if it were a wet newspaper.

An onlooker captured the moment the first balloon struggled to take off.
It appeared to clip the top of a parked van as it slowly ascended.
The impact sent the balloon hurtling towards the other one.
The basket flew into the top of the envelope as riders screamed in fear.
They had to cling on for dear life as the basket tipped over at an almost horizontal angle.

The other balloon’s envelope promptly deflated.
Meanwhile, the first balloon safely took to the air after crashing into the other one.
The bungled takeoff was filmed in the village of Luttelgeest, located north-east of Amsterdam, Netherlands, on Sunday (27 Apr).

Although no one was injured in the crash, it left several participants and spectators in a state of shock, as reported by What’s The Jam.
One witness said: “Normally, one balloon takes off at a time, but there were four on this occasion.
“Just as it was lifting off the ground, the wind pulled it up at an angle.
“That’s when things started to go wrong.”
The balloon operator, who comes from the village of Sint Nicolaasga, called the collision “really bad luck”.
It is unclear who has to foot the bill for the damaged balloon.
