A dad has spent 24 years creating a giant Babybel wax ball – weighing more than a bag of sugar.
Darren Thomas began his bizarre keepsake when he was 12 years old.
It weighs more than a standard 900g bag of sugar – coming in at 1kg 26g.
The 36-year-old estimates he’s used 200 Babybels over the past two decades.

The hefty ball is £518 worth of the cheesy treat.
The dad-of-two keeps his work of art on the kitchen window sill, annoying his wife, Jodene, 34, who isn’t much of a fan.
The Network Rail manager says the Babybel ball is the first thing visitors clock when they step into his home in Yate, Somerset.
Darren said: “My wife hates it, but I won’t let it go.

“My friends aren’t particularly excited about it either.
“They all say it’s weird but to me, it’s not hurting anyone.
“They should just let it be.

“It’s kept on my kitchen window sill, that’s why there’s some discolouration.
“It’s the first thing that people see when they walk into the house.
“It doesn’t smell or anything.
“I remember being about 12 years old and playing with wax peels from a Babybel.
“I left it on my bedside table and the following day it was still there when I had another Babybel so I just started adding to it.
“And the rest is history.
“Its progress has slowed in the past two years as I changed jobs.
“I used to work away a lot and would nab a few Babybels at breakfast to take home and grow the ball.
Darren posted his wax ball on social media.
