Customers have been left reeling at Christmas food on shelves already are going out-of-date before the big day.

The yuletide season is still 11 weeks away, but supermarkets are selling festive grub.

It has angered many shoppers but others like to stock up early.

But, in some Tesco stores across the UK, many festive food staples are going out-of-date as early as the start of next month.

The mince pies and cakes go off as early as 4 November.

Eagle-eyed Glenn Kennedy spotted them, as reported on What’s The Jam.

He said: “Watch your dates on the new Christmas cakes and pies.

“Dates are November at Tesco.”

Some snacks including mince pies, sticky toffee tarts and chocolate yule log are all set to be unfit for consumption by December.

Shopper Heather said: “Tut tut tut Tesco.”

Raynah said: “Just bonkers.”

Rose added: “The preservatives they put in them now is enough without lasting until Christmas.”

It comes after a Sainsbury’s store was spotted selling mince pies in September, with another three months until Christmas Day.

The store in Greater Manchester, infuriated shoppers selling the staple with months to go.

Tesco has been approached for comment.
