A shocked couple discovered that their grandparents were best friends in the 60s.
Storm Baron and Will Perfect, both 25, met in December 2023, and have been inseparable since.
But, the pair realised that Storm’s grandad, Mick, and Will’s grandad, Bill, were best friends, 65 years ago.

Mick and his wife, Doreen, used to holiday with Bill and his wife, Marian.

Sadly, Mick passed away in 2001, aged 61, and Doreen, 82, lost touch with Bill, 80, and Marian, 73.

The couple rummaged through old photos and found images of Storm’s mum, Kerry, 59, and Will’s mum, Sarah, 53, playing in a paddling pool together on holiday.
Personal assistant, Storm, believes meeting quantity surveyor, Will, was fate and that it would have been Mick’s dream for the couple to be together.
“Sometimes you know when things are meant to be,” Storm, from Rayleigh, Essex, told What’s the Jam.

“When you’re with someone you love and you’re really happy, there has to be a reason. It’s got to be fate.
“Me being with his best friend’s grandson is exactly what Grandad would have wanted.
“Last week, me and Will were having a conversation at dinner with my mum and dad and we randomly started talking about maiden names.

“Will’s surname is his dad’s so we didn’t have any idea.
“When Will told my mum what his mum’s maiden name was, she said it was weird because her dad’s best friend had the same name.

“Then it got weirder when Will said what his grandparent’s names were and that his grandad used to be a cab driver.
“My mum got quite emotional and called my nan.
“We went through old photos and found some of them all together and some of our mums playing in a paddling pool.
“None of us could believe it. It’s insane.
“We were all really emotional. It’s so lovely.”

Mick and Bill met when they were working at a heating and ventilation company.
Bill supported Mick when he was suffering from terminal cancer and Doreen lost touch with the couple.

When Storm and Will met, neither family suspected that they knew each other.
Storm said: “Last year, I went to Will’s grandad’s 80th and he said one of his friends has a granddaughter with an unusual name like mine but we didn’t put two and two together.
“When Grandad died, they lost touch but they only stopped sending Christmas cards two years ago.
“They thought each other had died.
“It would be different if my grandad was still here.
“My mum was close with Will’s grandad. She said she liked it when he went round

“His grandparents were invited to my parents’ wedding.
“We found their response to the invite saying that they would be there but my mum can’t remember if they went.”
Storm has put Bill and Doreen back in touch and the friends had a catch-up on the phone.
The couple are planning to reunite them in person.
Storm added: “Bill called my nan and they had a good catch-up and reminisced.
“It’s exactly what my grandad would have wanted.”
