And viewers have been left fascinated by the bizarre ancestral twist.
In the clip, Leonie explained that while she’s always known she was related to the infamous figure, it took her time to dig into the darker details.

“I didn’t choose my lineage, but I did choose to explore it.
“It’s not my intention to glorify it, but to understand it and maybe open conversations about how history is remembered.
“I’m not here to defend the past, but I’m here to ask questions, learn, and offer a personal lens into a part of history most people never hear about.”

Roman von Ungern-Sternberg – dubbed the Mad Baron – was a Russian military leader in the Russian Civil War and then an independent warlord who intervened in Mongolia against China.
He briefly ruled the country after helping to drive out Chinese forces in 1921 and became notorious for his extreme violence, anti-Communist stance, and claims of a divine purpose.
Lennie, who is currently studying for her MBA with a focus on geopolitics and international trade, sparked a flurry of reaction online with her video.
“Seeing a descendent of the mad baron on TikTok feels like a fever dream,” one person said.

Another wrote: “Holy moly, never thought I’d run into Sternberg’s descendant on TikTok.”
One social media user commented: “The Mad Baron was a murderous lunatic. Anyone who makes a hero out of someone like that belongs in a padded room.”
