A stylist to the stars has gone viral after sharing a controversial method to stop pain from wearing high heels – using duct tape.

Rebecca Kahane Pankow, who has worked with big names such as Sharon Osbourne, recently hit the headlines after sharing how to use booze to get rid of lingering sweat smells in clothes.

Now, the influencer, who has 16,000 Instagram followers (@beccakahane) has shared another trick in a video – racking up 21,0900 likes – but it’s left the internet divided.

The clip shows Becca explaining why she uses duct tape to temporarily block the nerve endings.

“It[ the tape] will help take pressure off the nerve between the toes, which allows the shoes to temporarily be more comfortable,” the stylist, from Los Angeles, US, told What’s The Jam.

“I haven’t tested it for more than six hours.

“I have also used CBD cream and icy hot to help numb my feel while wearing heels for special occasions such as my wedding.

“You can also apply icy, hot or CBD cream to your feet to help with the pain.

“[It] should work for most!

“Unless the shoe is extremely uncomfortable to begin with.”

The stylist also revealed that she actually owes the hack to a fellow social media user, after someone commented on her video.

She said: “Someone commented on one of my TikToks in November and then I tried it at a wedding and was shocked it worked.

“I have used it two times and it has helped!”

While some users praised Becca for the hack, others have been left questioning whether the hack could be potentially dangerous.

One user said: “This is life changing!!! thanks for sharing girly!”

Geire said: “Imagine giving people a ‘hack’ so their plantar nerves don’t feel the tissue damage they are inflicting on their feet. What dreadful advice.”

Another user said: “But but but- pain is your body signal something’s wrong.”

Another user said: “Look, I wear heels everyday and I love heels- but don’t you think that taping in order to not feel a nerve this is there for a reason…is a bit extreme.”

Alyssa said: “People in the comments crying THEN DONT WEAR THE SHOES.”

FACT BOX: THE DOCTOR SAYS

“Taping toes together carries potential risks, particularly if inappropriate materials are used or if the tape is applied too tightly,” Dr James Thompson from Simply Aesthetic told What’s The Jam.

“These risks include but are not limited to skin irritation, restricted blood circulation, and discomfort.

“It’s crucial to listen to your body and remove the tape if any discomfort or signs of poor circulation occur.”
