A man proposed to his partner on public transport but jaded commuters didn’t bat an eyelid at the romantic scene – and social media users don’t like it either.
Onyisi Nwayorbuije, who witnessed the moment while riding the same bus, was left baffled after noticing his fellow passengers’ reactions.
That is – none at all. While he began clapping to celebrate the happy couple, other commuters gave dead stares or looked away.

The musician was on his way home from the studio when the special moment took place.
“I was looking at him [the stranger proposing] and he went [down] on his knees, and I was like ‘Oh, it’s a beautiful thing’,” Onyisi told What’s The Jam.
“I was having a bad day but when I saw that, it made my day.
“I was just disappointed how people react.. people will never look at you.
“Those people are very, very cold.
“They don’t care and I think it’s not good.“P.S She said yes!”
Despite his phone running low on battery, Onyisi decided to film the happy moment and later shared it on Instagram, where it has over 51,000 views so far.
But many social media users also didn’t feel the love.
“Out of all places… he decided to propose in a tram,” said Elise, with a crying emoji.
Another viewer said: “People probably thought it was a prank, bc for real who proposes on a tram?”
“That’s because nobody cares,” said someone else.
Lilly added: “They were sad for her…he proposed on public transportation.”
“’Special Moment’ does it in a TRAM,” said someone else, adding a skull emoji.
“Maybe because it was in the bus/tram? Thats not very romantic to be honest. I would be so sad if I was the lady,” said another viewer.
The proposal took place on Sunday (9 June) in the Netherlands.
