A food reviewer has put the £16 Harrods fried chicken to the ultimate test – trying it against one of the nation’s favourite poultry eateries, KFC.
Carmie Sellitto regularly goes viral, sharing his thoughts on high-end foodie buys with his 1.2 million followers on TikTok.
In a recent post, the 26-year-old Londoner decided to see how the pricey Harrods food hall dish stacked up against the popular popcorn chicken from the budget fast food chain, to see if it is really worth the money.

In the clip, he explains that he has never tried KFC before, but had purchased the popcorn chicken for £5, alongside a tub of gravy.
He says: “Wow, that’s really good.
“It’s cooked perfectly, it’s got a nice crunch, and I like the seasoning on that.
“For £5, this is definitely worth the money.”
While the cheap dish impressed the critic, the true test came in seeing how it stacked up against the Harrods offering, which costs more than triple the amount.

Carmie says: “Let’s see if it tastes three times better.”
Immediately, he points out how much larger the Harrods offering is, holding the two different items up to the camera.
He says: “The size difference is crazy.”

Then, taking a bite, he adds: “Oh my god.
“It’s probably some of the best chicken I’ve ever had in my life.
“The seasoning they’ve put on this is absolutely perfect.”
Dipping it into the KFC gravy, he is left speechless, and adds: “No words.
“I’ve just realised I must be the first person to ever try Harrods chicken with KFC gravy.”
He ultimately rates the KFC version an 8.5/10, while Harrods gets a 9.5/10.
He confirms: “Harrods wins!”
Carmie previously made headlines after reviewing the most expensive coffee in the UK, which costs an eye-watering £265.
He told What’s The Jam: “I thought it tasted just like a normal coffee.
“I couldn’t believe this place was selling a coffee for this much money.
“It obviously wasn’t worth the £265.
“You could get something for £3 that would taste exactly the same.”ENDS
