A ‘de-influencer’ has given a shocking insight into how social media stars ‘fake’ having perky breasts with a series of tricks.
Danae Mercer has built up a following of 2.3 million followers on Instagram, where she is an advocate for body positivity.
The 37-year-old, who lives in Dubai but is originally from the US, aims to share a glimpse behind the scenes of carefully curated social media shots.

In a recent post, the mum-of-one, lifted the lid on how lifting your breasts can be achieved using makeup and clever poses.
In the video – titled ‘How influencers ‘fake’ perky tatas’ and featured on What’s The Jam – Danae says they wear two bras: a push-up bra, and a second bra on top for maximum lift.
She also shares a specific pose, having one arm across the body and the second arm squeezed in, before leaning forward to enhance the cleavage.
Wearing criss-cross tops also helps, Danae says, or wearing bikini tops upside down while posing so the breasts “seriously pop out”.
Finally – and perhaps most surprisingly – she says influencers contour their chest with makeup to give the illusion of lifted breasts.

Danae shared the video to remind her followers that the online world is “so curated”.
The post garnered 23,000 likes.

“Thank you for this and your body positivity messages!! Still need this reminder at 50 yrs old,” commented another follower.
Someone else joked: “Omg they should just get implants if it’s that important.”
Danae previously made headlines sharing how clever poses can transform the physique – tricks she says influencers employ when posting online.
In side-by-side snaps of herself in a bikini, she showed how the way she carried herself completely changed how her body appeared.
In another, she revealed how to fake having a thigh gap in a bid to prove that what we see on social media “isn’t real”.
In the post, she films herself at the gym wearing shorts while posing in the mirror, with a clear gap between her legs.
But then she relaxes and shows her far more natural stance, with her thighs touching at the top.
Danae said: “Here, I tipped my pelvis back really far to elongate the legs, tighten the abs.
“I rotated my knees and quads inwards, did both at the same time while not breathing and bam. Magic thigh gap. Woah.
“You can do it while walking too. Just push one leg out to the side instead of actually in front of you. In a photo, it looks like a thigh gap. It’s that easy.
“So next time your thighs touch or rub or don’t gape apart in the mirror, please don’t panic. Don’t stress. Don’t let it get you down.
“Mine don’t either. And that’s so darn OK. Because health and fitness and wellness matter so much more than whether we can see some air between our limbs or not.”
