An American influencer has left social media users amused with his reaction to trying a staple British dish for the first time.
Kalani Smith, a professional ghost hunter, regularly explores “haunted” places across the US and shares his creepy experiences on TikTok (@kalanighosthunter) with his 2.8 million followers.
But in his latest video, he ventured across the pond to try out a classic dish – the humble Greggs sausage roll.
In the clip, he tests out a few menu options, including the famous sausage roll, which leaves him speechless with its “perfect pastry”.
The Nashville, Tennessee native’s hilarious reaction has gone viral, garnering over 2.7 million views.
“The sausage roll was incredible,” Kalani, who was travelling to Swindon and stopped at a service station to test out the dish, told What’sTheJam.com.

“I had high expectations due to the frequency of comments that recommended Greggs.
“The steak bake was good too, but the sausage roll was hard to beat!
“The whole experience here in the UK has been unbelievable, and this just topped it off.”
In the clip, he walks viewers into a Greggs store and begins by saying: “I’m an American, first time in the UK, let’s go try out Greggs.”
He picks up three staples – the sausage roll, a steak bake and a jam doughnut – and heads back to his car to try them out.
Kalani first tries the steak bake as he can be seen smiling and says how it is “rather tasty” and “perfectly cooked”, following on to say how it is probably one of the best pastries he’s ever had, and he rates it an 8/10.
He then tries the sausage roll, and this time his eyes roll to the back of his head in amazement, rating it a 9.5/10.
He says: “Okay that’s really damn good.
“Oh my, oh my, oh my my my my my, that is really good my friends.
“This might be my favourite thing I’ve had in the UK so far.”
Happy with his last two snacks, he then moves on to the jam doughnut.
He takes a big bite and says: “It’s not nearly as sweet as the ones in the US but in the best way possible.
“The jelly inside actually tastes real, which I think is a huge plus for this.
“It’s not as soft as some we have in the US but I don’t mind it, it’s more cakey.
“But it’s really good.”
He rates the doughnut one an 8/10.
He describes what a sausage roll is for the benefit of his US followers, and adds: “Please if you ever come to the UK, get one.”
The post was captioned: “This was an awesome recommendation. I might get one of these every day now, the pastry portion is UNMATCHED,” and has garnered 171,600 likes, as well as 10,000 comments from fans so far.
