A cheeky bear has been found squatting under a family’s house.
Crystal Weaver said they were first alerted to its presence by the family pooch, Coco.
The dog had been behaving strangely for a couple of weeks, pacing the garden and constantly barking at apparently nothing.
The family dismissed the dog’s behaviour as “silly” and carried on as normal.
Crystal, of Vancouver Island, Canada, said: “The dog has been losing it for weeks, barking her face off.
“She’s a bit of a silly girl so we didn’t think too much of it.”
However, the family soon started hearing strange noises coming from under the house and went to investigate.
Crystal’s husband crawled under the decking to look under the house and was stunned to find a bear preparing to bed down for the winter.

She said: “He got out of there extremely quick.
“Our anxiety was pretty high because you definitely don’t want a bear living under your house.”
An official from the British Columbia Conservation Officer Service arrived on the scene to evict the furry intruder.
The officer used loud noises to scare the bear away.
Crystal said: “There are lots of places for the bear to go, he just needs to move further down the river.”
The family shared a video of the encounter on their TikTok channel where it went viral with 4.4 million views and thousands of comments.
One pal said: “He’s looking at you like ‘I’m going to have to leave, aren’t I?’”
Another added: “Props to the dog for not starting a fight that she couldn’t win.”
“He knows he has squatters rights, he’ll be fine,” joked someone else.
Another said: “To be fair, your deck looks like it would absolutely make an amazing winter hidey-hole.”
Jackson remarked: “Man, I might have just let him stay for the winter.”
