He has been a qualified advanced powerboat operator since 2004 and has a firm belief in the legendary monster.
In 2019, Steve had an encounter as he was piloting a speedboat south along the loch on a calm, sunny morning.
During the trip, he noticed movement in the water off the port side, as reported by What’s The Jam.

Steve said: “Suddenly, the classic humps emerged from the water, then vanished, only to resurface a few more times.
“I quickly grabbed my phone and managed to get an image of what looked like a distinct, dark mass rising from the surface.

“To this day, I believe I caught a glimpse of the monster itself.”
Nagina Ishaq, General Manager of The Loch Ness Centre, said Steve’s “genuine curiosity and deep love for the loch” brings a fresh dose of “energy and excitement” to the Deepscan experience.

His job will be to guide those keen to learn more about the loch – and maybe even catch a glimpse of something extraordinary.

She said: “Steve brings an authentic connection to the legend of the Loch Ness Monster, having both skippered these waters for years and witnessed something remarkable himself.
“His deep knowledge of the loch and love for the mystery make him the perfect host for our Loch Ness cruise experience.”
Steve Glew added: “I hope Deepscan continues to break new ground in exploring the place we live and work.
“We’ve still only dipped our toe into the mysteries that lie beneath the waters of the loch and I’m sure there are still secrets waiting to be discovered.”
Deepscan cruises the world famous loch using sonar technology to try and detect the mythical creature.
