A cyclist has been left “baffled” after he found a full roast dinner in a rental e-bike basket.
Sam Darlaston, 31, was rushing to meet his mates at the pub when he spotted the feast.
The full meal – including chicken, roast potatoes, green beans and a Yorkshire pudding – was just sitting there in the front of his Lime bike.

The bizarre moment took place on Friday (16 May) outside Battersea Power Station in London.
“It was great pub garden weather,” Sam, who lives in Clapham, told What’s the Jam.

“I was already running late, so I thought I’d hop on a Lime bike – there are usually loads outside the station.
“The one that unlocked looked fine – full charge, nice seat – then just as I was about to start riding, I could smell a meal.
“It actually smelled really nice, I can’t lie.

“Then I looked in the basket – and there it was.
“A full roast dinner. Maybe two portions’ worth.
“Loose! No packaging, just sitting there like it was served onto a plate – except the plate was an e-bike basket.

“There was no gravy though. Or not enough, anyway.”
Despite being hungry and pressed for time, Sam admitted he was too embarrassed to be seen cycling around London with a dinner-for-two in his bike basket.
He said: “I felt a bit shy – what if people looked in the basket at traffic lights?”
He promptly locked the bike again only to discover that all the others were booked.
He said: “I had to walk 30 minutes back to Clapham Junction.
“I ended up missing the first hour of the pub garden – but at least I had a good excuse.”
Sam later shared the story on social media where users were equally amused and confused by the stray Sunday roast.
One follower wrote: “That’s a very London problem.”
Another added: “Plot twist – someone was delivering dinner to a mate by bike.”
