An elderly gran’s birthday party almost ended in disaster as she was nearly set on fire after her family crammed 95 candles onto her birthday cake.
Footage of the bash shows the gateau glowing brightly as the nonagenarian gran sits in front of it.
Her family are grinning widely as they stand around her filming the moment.

They can be seen and heard clapping along to the music playing in the background.
Meanwhile, a huge flame starts rising from the cake a whisker away from the stunned grandma.
She opens her mouth in shock and points at the flaming cake.
Voices are briefly raised before she and her relatives blow at it with all their might.
Embers fly and smoke rises as the blaze is extinguished and a calamity averted.

It happened on Saturday (20 Jul), as reported on What’s The Jam.
Her granddaughter said: “My grandmother turned 95, and my family decided to put 95 candles on the cake.
“No one thought it might catch fire, and my grandma.”

After the story hit the headlines in Argentina, the young woman printed off local news reports to show her nan.
When one follower asked her granddaughter what happened to the cake, she replied: “It didn’t make any sense.
“But we had to quickly remove all the candles while they were still burning.
“The top of the cake ended up covered in white wax.
“Still, it was totally edible – just needed to remove the wax.”
