Britain’s most haunted school gives a team of hardened ghoul-hunters a lesson

Tony Ferguson and his pals were left spooked after hearing whistling and footsteps in the former classrooms.

They also got creeped out by kids’ voices saying ‘Hey’ and ‘Yeah’ in the corridors of the derelict boarding school.

Tony, 39 visited George Jarvis School with fellow investigators, Bev Ferguson, Sue Robinson, Adam Clark, and Paul Cissell.

Pupils there were from poorer and less fortunate families.

The school in Staunton On Wye, on Herefordshire, opened in 1862, but closed in 2010, after briefly being a youth hostel.

Ghost hunter, Tony and his team, visited after hearing many reports of paranormal activity going on within the school.

He told What’s The Jam: “This is known as the most haunted school in the UK.

“As there are very few schools that can be booked out as a venue for investigations, we knew we had to visit.

Tony, a personal trainer by day, has been hunting ghouls for 16 years.

He added: “We did not want to know the history of the school, but wanted to go in blind to see for ourselves what we would encounter in the evening.

“During our investigation, we heard children’s voices in the cellar and in the upper rooms of the school, which we all heard.

“We heard loud footsteps in one of the rooms with us, the room next to us which was locked off to the public, we heard the same loud footsteps walking around.

“We also heard some strange noises, taps and bangs throughout the evening that we could not find a source for.

“We tried to find an explanation for a lot of these things but were unable to.”

Tony, a.k.a. The Ghost Whisperer, of Lymington, Hampshire, said: “I went in expecting nothing, but was quite shocked by what we encountered… as was the team.

“I would easily put this among my top Locations in the country, as there were so many things I cannot explain.”
