Tottenham have been accused of “cashing in” on past failure by flogging self-deprecating humour T-shirts.

The Premier League club is selling one top, which just has the word ‘Spursy’ on it.

The term has been coined in the last two decades and used to describe how the club has lost in embarrassing ways.

Another – also costing £30 – has the slogan ‘Lad it’s Tottenham’ on the front.

It’s a nod to ex-Man Utd manager Sir Alex Ferguson’s rallying cry to his side in their 90s heyday.

He used it to encourage his players and to undermine Spurs, suggesting they were easy to beat.

The two new T-shirts are being sold after Tottenham finally ended their 17-year wait for a trophy last season.

They beat Man Utd – ironically – 1-0 in the Europa League final in May.

There is also a hoodie being sold with those words on the front for £55, as reported on What’s The Jam.

Some football fans have been left fuming by the designs.

Some aimed their anger at chairman Daniel Levy.

Denilson added: “Levy is cashing in on our demise.

“Couldn’t make it up.”

One added: “£30 for that, f*ck off Levy.”

Ian Brazier said: “If it had the cup on it, it would be cool as we take ownership of the word.”

Michael said: “Seems we’re ‘taking back the word’.”
