A huge collection of Formula One memorabilia is going under the hammer for a whopping £1.3m.

More than 280 items belong to race ace legends like Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton – both seven-time world champs.

Other lots belonged to late track favourite Ayrton Senna, and Sebastian Vettel is being sold.

But all the pieces have no reserves, so F1 fans could snap up some bargains.

Among the pricey items is a 1997 Schumacher Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 OMP Signed Racing Suit.

It is tipped to go for £34,000 in the RM Sotheby’s auction.

The listing reads: “Allocated to Michael Schumacher for the 1997 Monaco Grand Prix weekend.

“Schumacher qualified in 2nd position, set the fastest lap and finished 1st in this race.

“This would be Schumacher’s first of three Monaco Grand Prix victories.”

A 2010 Honda CBR1000RR SC59 – which is estimated to sell for £29,000 – is also on sale.

It was used during test days by the German driver and has only done 2,331 miles, as reported on What’s The Jam.

“The bike has not been run for a long period of time,” the lot description reads.

“So, it would require servicing and inspection prior to track use.”

A Girard-Perregaux Automatic Chronograph Watch is set to attract bids of up to £25,000.

Senna’s 1993 racing boots – £10,000 – and the front wing of his old Williams FW16 car – £6,800 – are other lots.

Some of Hamilton’s Puma car gloves – £5,000 – and a bottle of his champagne and podium cap – £85 – are also being flogged.

“From the likes of Formula 1 World Champions Michael Schumacher, Ayrton Senna, and Lewis Hamilton.

“The Champions – Schumacher and F1 Legends will open for bidding on 24 July, with lots closing between 29 and 30 July, and will feature more than 280 unique pieces offered entirely without reserve.

“The varied sale will include everything from race-worn helmets and race suits to pieces of bodywork from historic competition cars.”

The auction takes place in Tegernsee, south of Munich, Germany.
