Football shirts worn by Oasis when they sponsored a pub team are set to fetch thousands when they go under the hammer.

The band members backed the Boltmaker’s Arms in Keighley, West Yorkshire, in their 1995/6 season, after two of their roadies came from the town.

Noel Gallagher and Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs donned the bespoke shirts – made by Adidas – in a charity match in the same year.

Other shirts were made for Liam, Paul ‘Guigsy’ McGuigan and Alan ‘Whitey’ White.

Although the brothers are renowned for being die-hard Man City supporters, the personalised shirt is a deep magenta red with ‘Oasis’ and ’N. Gallagher 7’ and ‘L. Gallagher 9’ on the back.

The extremely rare jerseys are now up for auction and could fetch £3,000 for the set.

The player’s shirts are also up for sale and come with the emblazoned Boltmaker’s pub logo, as reported on What’s The Jam.

They will be offered in Ilkley-based Hartley’s Auctions Autumn Antiques and Interiors Auction on Wednesday, 3 September.

The Noel shirt has a guide price of £700 to £1,000, while the Liam jersey will be offered at the same price.

The Paul Arthurs jersey will be offered at £200-£300, the same price as the Paul McGuigan and Alan White shirts.

Bonehead and Noel kindly gave Nick Brine, a producer and sound engineer, their shirts at London’s Abbey Road Studios during the recording of their album Be Here Now, released in 1997.

He was the engineer on the session, currently based in Alicante, Spain.

He said: “Back in 1995, Oasis decided to sponsor one of their local pub teams.

“Adidas made a bespoke kit for the team and one-off shirts for the band members, each with their names on the back.

The band played two sell-out gigs in Dublin last weekend and is set to kick-start a tour of Canada and the US before two huge shows at Wembley Stadium next month.
