A lawyer has revealed the incredible side hustle earning her more than double her corporate salary – being a “pet influencer”.

Jules Kuch started documenting life with her beloved Golden Retriever, Wally, back in 2020 when he was just a puppy “just for fun” – but he has since sky-rocketed to fame, with nearly half a million followers.

And while it started as a hobby, clips of the five-year-old pup have proven so lucrative that Jules, 32, is now raking in up to £36,000 a month from it.

“If I could tell a younger version of myself that I get paid to make videos with my Golden Retriever she would freak out – it is truly a dream come true,” Boston-based Jules told What’s The Jam.

I’ve made double my corporate salary as a pet influencer.”

Her account, called Wally Meets World, boasts 473,000 followers, with fans loving seeing clips of the hilarious pooch going about daily life.

She also has her own page, Girl With The Goldens, where she shares tips to other budding content creators.

Between the millions of views her posts garner, plus brand deals, she is often making tens of thousands of pounds on top of her salary.

In a recent post, Jules documented her earnings for the third financial quarter of the year.

In July, her posts earned her $17,909 (£13,652), while in August they peaked at a whopping $47,653 (£36,328), and in September she made $28,513 (£21,736) – a total of $94,075 (£71,716) in just three months.

What started as a fun hobby has become a seriously profitable endeavour.

Jules said: “I started posting videos of Wally on TikTok during the pandemic just for fun like a lot of people did.

“In January 2024 I decided to start taking content creation seriously and treat it like a job.

“I posted videos every day until finally my content started to take off in July 2024.

“That momentum was all I needed to keep going and try to make this a career.

“I have learned so much since then and of course have so much more to learn but it’s so fun.”

Jules is still working in intellectual property law, but enjoys balancing the two, and says her social media pages have become a huge part of her life – which she treats as a “second full-time job”.

She added: “Being a pet content creator is about sharing real content that makes people happy.

“I have this amazing, loveable dog that I want to share with the world.

“We have the amazing opportunity to work with brands and share products we love but being an ‘influencer’ in general is more about how people feel when they watch your content than anything else – whether it’s relatable, funny, educational, or emotional.”

As for her role in all this? While Wally is the star, Jules is working hard behind the scenes every day.

She said: “I have many roles: creative, videographer, editor – and then the more challenging stuff like managing partnerships, responding to emails, running a small business.”

But while it’s tough to juggle the workload, Jules believes it’s well worth it – and not just financially.

She added: “When someone tells me Wally made their day a little brighter, or helped them through a tough moment, or reminded them of a pet they loved it truly shows me that what I do is impacting people or at the very least making them smile.

“I also love the creativity of it – filming, editing, and seeing a video connect with millions of people never gets old.

“It is truly a dream to share these videos of my dog with the world and to have people care.

“I love him so much and the fact that I get paid to make videos about his life is surreal.

“I am also so grateful to have a digital diary of our life together to look back on some day.”
