Derelict homes littered with unopened letters, school photographs and children’s toys have been discovered on an abandoned council estate.

Urban explorer Sean Piper found the rotting buildings filled with personal belongings.

He said the property’s previous tenants were evicted to make way for new buildings – but work on the planned luxury apartments has been slow.

“The site is quite well known around London, and is a talking point due to the impending demolition and amount of people evicted,” he told What’s The Jam.

“You can drive right into the abandoned estate and walk around the abandoned homes.

“Luxury apartments are being built in their place.

“Work started two years ago and is very slow across the estate as there are 600 homes across various streets.

“Tenants started being evicted and were offered lump sums to move into temporary housing as well as first places into the new luxury apartments so they could be built.”

Sean’s clip of the discovery, which he uploaded to his TikTok account (@seanurbex), has racked up over 6,500 views.

In the video, windows can be seen completely boarded up.

Inside, he shows messy flats with furniture and broken bed frames sprawled across the floor.

Newspapers and cleaning products litter the rooms, as well as dirty tissues and old boxes.

Another flat is empty but mould and mildew spreads cross the walls.

Radiators can be seen on the floor as well as paper and envelopes.

The hallways are covered in rubble and dirt while the stairways are half blocked by rubbish and furniture.

There are also school pictures and toys left behind.

Sean said: “The abandoned estate was apparently outdated.

“It was quite uncomfortable in the buildings, waiting for squatters or worse to greet you round the corner.

“It smelt of drugs and mould.”
