A New York townhouse has gone on the market for just under $18 million – and it features its own private elevator and an indoor waterfall.

Located on the Upper East Side, the property has five stories with six bedrooms and six bathrooms.

The space has a large living room, and a dining area which offers a stunning view of the indoor waterfall below, measuring 23-foot.

The waterfall itself is surrounded by a sculpture garden and tranquillity pool.

On the fourth floor there is a private terrace of 400sq ft, and on the fifth floor a private rooftop garden can be found, reports What’s The Jam.

All rooms are accessible through a private elevator, a standout feature of the home, alongside its more than 40 windows.

The home is decorated with modern, minimalist features and a light and bright palette.

The 11,000sq ft home was originally built as a carriage house in 1899, before Japanese architect Toshiko Mori redesigned it in 2008, having purchased it for $9 million.

The realtor has described the townhouse to be ‘feng shui inspired’.

Feng shui’s purpose is to align your environment with who you are and where you want to go.

The five principles of feng shui are based on the cycles of nature – fire, earth, metal, water, and wood.

This property’s redesign was also with the intention of making it environmentally friendly, with natural materials used, such as maple wood flooring, marble and limestone.

The home is also ‘LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified’.

The property is currently available with Leslie Garfield for $17,995,000.
