The former mansion of an iconic talk show host has gone up for sale and includes seven fireplaces, seven bedrooms and two acres of grounds.
Known as the “King of Late Night” television, Johnny Carson was the star of NBC’s The Tonight Show from 1962 until 1992.
Throughout his successful career, the host won many awards, including six Primetime Emmys and was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame – especially for his signature introduction “Heeeere’s Johnny”.
Up until 1972, the show was broadcast from New York, until it relocated to Los Angeles – where Carson moved with his role.

But before then, he owned a luxurious mansion in the suburbs of the Big Apple, known as “The Carson Ballfield”.
The Colonial-style manor features seven bedrooms, an expansive chef’s kitchen and a fully-equipped fitness centre, all situated on two-acre grounds.
Leading up to the home, there’s a pristine white entrance, with a mini conservatory seating area awaiting to greet guests.
Across the home, there are lots of dark wooden accents, such as in one of the cosy offices that features floor-to-ceiling walls in this style, along with a roaring fireplace.

In the living room, high ceilings are coupled with the original wooden beams and another fireplace – of which there are seven in the home – situated in the centre of the seating area.
Across the hall, the large dining room offers a place to entertain guests and continues with the clean, minimalistic white theme of the property throughout.
The dark wooden chef’s kitchen comes with a centre island and top-of-line appliances – ready to whip up a feast.

And to relax after a long evening, there’s another seating area around the corner.
Upstairs, each bedroom comes with its very own fireplace and en-suite bathroom.
As well as a games room, the full-size fitness centre also offers a place for relaxation, including a private sauna and indoor cabana bath.
At the rear of the property, there’s an expansive luscious green lawn with a basketball and tennis court, as well as a pool and jacuzzi on the patio area.
With different trees and bushes surrounding the property, overlooking neighbours won’t be a problem.
If warm nights take a turn, there’s another inside dining room and green-encompassed seating room just off the terrace, too.
Accessed via a long driveway with stone pillars on either side and a wraparound entrance laden with green bushes and trees, the home becomes a spectacle to be admired instantly.
While Jimmy Fallon now takes centre stage for the show, the original host earned the title of one of America’s favourite television personalities.
The property, featured on TopTenRealEstates.com, has also appeared on MTV’s Teen Cribs before and since then, has undergone many renovations to create the 9,923sq ft mansion.
Located in the town of Rye, there’s easy access to New York City, with Manhattan only an hour away.
There are also many golf courses and yacht clubs nearby, as well as restaurants, shops and the beach.
The mansion is currently listed with Christy Murphy of Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty for $5.3 million (USD) (£4.1 million).
