A photographer has captured an incredible set of smiling animals flashing their gnashers.
Gustavo Costa, who also works as a scuba diving instructor, loves getting up-close-and-personal with creatures on camera.
The 54-year-old, who is originally from Mexico, regularly shares his photos on Instagram (@gustavocostaphotography) and has put together a collection of his favourite smirking animals – from a sea lion to a crocodile and more.
“Capturing wildlife photos in their natural environment is an exhilarating and deeply rewarding experience,” the 54-year-old, from Mexico, told http://NeedToKnow.co.uk .

“The feeling begins with a sense of anticipation and excitement as you venture into the wild, equipped with your camera and a deep respect for the natural world.
“There’s a palpable connection with nature as you immerse yourself in the environment, keenly observing the sounds, scents, and textures that surround you.
“But it’s not just about capturing the perfect image; it’s also about experiencing a profound sense of connection and respect for the creatures you encounter.
“In their presence, you become acutely aware of the delicate balance of ecosystems and the importance of preserving these habitats for future generations.”
In one image, a stunning Mexican parrot snake can be seen sharing its joy and opening wide for the camera.

Another clip shows a smiling sea lion eager posing for the camera as it swims playfully around Gustavo.
Positioned only centimetres away, the photographer was also able to capture a grinning American crocodile, diving towards the camera as its dinner swims in the background.
Joining the party, the panamic green moray eel couldn’t resist sharing its giant grin with the experienced diver, flashing its not-so-pearly whites before disappearing into the rocks.
