Newlyweds squeal in delight as pet pig gives birth to eight cute piglets

A newlywed couple were squealing in delight after their pet pig gave birth to eight cute piglets.

Stacey and Phil Eve got the best wedding present after their Kune Kune Maisy produced the adorable litter.

The piglet loving pair had just got hitched a day before their six-year-old pet welcomed five girls and three boys.

Kune Kunes are the smallest domesticated breed of pig and originated in New Zealand.

They are known for their docile, friendly nature and are popular as pets.

And Stacey was delighted at the new arrivals.

“Phil and I married after being together 14 years,” she told What’s The Jam.

“Maisy has given us a wonderful wedding present as the piglets were born just after our marriage ceremony.

“It was amazing to see.

“I thought she had given birth to six, but after I left and then returned soon after, she had given birth to two more.

“Eight piglets are common for this breed of pig – but they are very cute.”

The pair run piglet experiences where people can interact with the animals at Everlong Farm in Diss, Norfolk.

Maisy, who has been on the farm since 2021, gave birth to the piglets on Wednesday (2 Apr) at 3 am.

Stacey, 46, added the litter will be sold as pets to other smallholders, petting farms, care farms, therapy farms and respite farms.

She added: “The Kune Kune is a very placid and docile pig so they are suited very well to being with the public and the piglet experience helps them to become socialised.

“Kune KuneS love people, so the piglet experience is absolutely wonderful for them and us.

“We look after pigs, sheep, goats, ducks, chickens, a goose and quail on our farm, which has grown quickly over that time.

“We also grow our own vegetables in our four-acre market garden.

“We have really enjoyed educating people about the breed, and it’s lovely to see so many children getting hands-on with the young piglets.”
