The bird plucked the fur from the muntjac’s back to make a nest.

When the 71-year-old checked the footage yesterday (18 Mar), he spotted the magpie swooping down.
It landed on the unsuspecting deer before gathering its hair for nesting material.
The deer briefly lifted its head but left the bird to pluck away its winter coat.
Guy said he was “overjoyed” when he spotted the rare moment and ran to show his wife.
“I showed it to my wife who said the magpie was not sitting on the muntjac’s back, but was on the ground, ” Guy, of Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, told What’s the Jam.

“She was wrong of course, one of my few wins. And my children loved it too.”
According to the British Deer Society, the muntjac species is rapidly increasing across the UK and they are found in almost all English counties as well as spreading into Wales.
Guy said it is common for him to see the small, stocky deer roaming around his garden.
