The owner of a fish with a human face has ramped up security measures and batted off £7,000 bids for the unique carp.

Bob the koi carp – whose manly mug is created by distinct markings – is so famous people from all over want to visit him.

Owner Malcolm Pawson has revealed that his fish is now a celebrity, with locals referring to him as ‘Bob’s dad’.

The £150 fish is now priceless in the landscape gardener’s eyes, after declining bids of over £7,000 for Bob.

Unfortunately for the 49-year-old Bob’s rise in fame and increase in value, has forced him to ramp up security measures.

With visitors pleading to come and see the koi carp, Malcolm has fitted his garden with three cameras to deter thieves.

All of the cameras are aimed at Bob’s new £2,000 home, which his owner built for him

The koi carp has been part of the Pawson family for the past four years and doesn’t look likely to leave anytime soon.

The predominately white fish stands out from Malcolm’s other 11 fish due to the black marks on its head.

The unique markings create what looks like a set of eyes, a nose and mouth.

“I’ve had offers of over £7,000 but I’ll never sell him,” Malcolm of Leeds, told What’s The Jam.

“Loads of people want to come and see him.

“It’s just about who you trust to just look and not try and pinch Bob.

“I’ve fitted the garden with a set of security cameras and a back gate just in case.

“I would like to try to breed him now, I’m going to add spawning brushes this year, you never know might get an even better Bob.

“Every time I go into my local town everyone says ‘look it’s Bob’s dad’.

“The new pond and filter was well over £2,000.

“I’m looking forward to showing him and the new pond off when the nice weather finally comes, at the moment he’s really settled into his new home.”
