Forty five cute kittens have been dumped at a pet shelter sparking a cat crisis.

All of the baby felines are under six-months-old

Staff are desperate for cat lovers to adopt them.

They are at the Stapeley Grange Cattery, in Nantwich, Cheshire.

All of them have been abandoned since the summer.

Deputy manager Nicola Chilton said: “Currently we’re caring for 45 kittens and only four adult cats and we know other animal welfare charities are facing a difficult time too.

“We’ve never known a summer as challenging as this one, the numbers coming through our doors have been unprecedented.

“If you are considering buying a kitten, we would urge people to use the Kitten Checklist.”

Recent arrivals who will soon be looking to be re-homed include 11 week-old kittens Galaxy, Rolo, Smartie, Sherbert and Skittle who were found in nearby Wistaton.

Other kittens, who are sadly receiving intensive care include five-week- old Nick, Charlie, Elle and Tao who were found in the rain and covered in flees.

But, due to care from staff, they are doing well, as reported by What’s The Jam.

The charity recommends that female cats should be neutered at just four-months-old.

This also helps to keep their health in check as it means they are less likely to get into cat fights and wander away from home.

With over 7,500 abandoned felines brought to the RSPCA’S attention just last year, the RSCPA recommends that you neuter your cat as soon as you can and if you happen to find a poor abandoned cat – to take them to a vet as soon as possible.

Additionally if you think a kitten or cat has been left abandoned in a property – to call 0300 1234 999.

It’s not just Cheshire experiencing a cat frenzy either.

Across the nation, there is a ‘cat crisis’ with the RSPCA forking out to accommodate 170 cats privately as their centres are bursting at the seams.
