It’s been a real life escape to the country for a herd of cows in Guernsey.
The animals decided they’d had enough of their surroundings and wanted to explore the Channel Island.
The troublemakers escaped their home farm, strolling down winding lanes and leafy paths at their leisure.
But it appears their consciences eventually got the better of them.

In a hilarious twist, the herd accidentally handed themselves into a GSPCA rescue facility.
“We are very blessed to have very clever animals here in Guernsey,” said Steve Byrne, manager at the Guernsey Society For The Prevention of Cruelty To Animals (GSPCA).
“This weekend a local herd of Guernsey cows got through their fencing and decided to visit the team at the GSPCA on Sunday (14 April).
“It was a very entertaining day for the GSPCA team but we like a challenge and it wasn’t long before we got hold of the farmer who owned them and off they went.”

It appears the GSCPA is the one-stop-shop for animal escapees in Guernsey.
In previous years, goats have handed themselves in and even a stray horse has come to say hello.
The Guernsey cow usually has white patches and can range in colour from yellow to a reddish brown.

They can weigh up to 2,000 lbs and are known for their use in dairy farming.
The news of the cheeky cows escaping comes just days after What’s The Jam reported a racehorse causing chaos at a train station in Sydney.
The animal took the platform and halted trains from opening their doors.
But the horse was soon rescued and returned to its home and is reported to be doing well.
