A school of dolphins were spotted feasting on a huge school of fish in a “sacred show”.

Karina Sanchez saw the leaping dolphins snacking on the fish and says that there were so many it looked like an oil spill.

The wild encounter took place in the crystal-clear sea below her balcony.

Stunned Karina spent the first night in her new home with her daughter Jasmine, 14, when the dolphins “crashed the scene and made their incredible entrance”.

She described the scene as a “sacred show from the universe”.

Karina said: “It was honestly one of the most magical things we’ve ever experienced, Karine, from Gibraltar, told What’s The Jam:

“It felt as if the universe had welcomed us into our new home with a sacred show — and gave us the role of witnessing that beauty and sharing it with the world.”

The 48-year-old filmed the encounter in the Bay of Gibraltar on Sunday (20 Jul).

Karina is heard exclaiming in Llanito – a form of Andalusian Spanish heavily laced with English words – in the video.

The mother-of-three said she first noticed “a huge black patch in the centre of the bay that looked like an oil spill”.

She was overwhelmed when a pod of dolphins then appeared in the shallow water, breaching as they went.

The dolphins apparently fed on some of the fish, causing the huge dark swell to move around the crystal-clear water.

Karina said: “My youngest daughter, Jasmine asked if we could have a sneaky sleepover at our new home before officially moving in at the beginning of August.

“We gathered a few things, got some food, and spent the night there for the first time.

“I woke up at 7am to watch the sunrise and took some amazing photos and videos.

“A few hours later, around 11am, Jasmine woke up and asked for my Wi-Fi hotspot as we hadn’t transferred our internet connection yet.

“We stepped onto the balcony to try and get a signal — and that’s when we saw it.

“At first, there was a huge black patch in the centre of the bay, which looked like an oil spill.

“Curious, I started filming it to send to our family group chat and ask what they thought it was.

“As I zoomed in, I realised it was actually a massive school of fish, millions of them, swimming together in perfect formation.

“Just as a kayak glided over the patch, dolphins suddenly appeared and crashed the scene, making the most incredible entrance.”

“Jasmine’s reaction – ‘oh my goodness!” – captured it perfectly.”

She shared the clip on her ‘Ruby Moon Gypsy’ TikTok page where it went viral with 521,000 views and nearly 800 comments.

One local said: “What a great video, I love dolphins.”

Another added: “I absolutely love the Llanito accent. As an English teacher, I find the ability to speak two languages at the same time adorably fascinating!”

“Love the ‘Spanglish’,” remarked Nicky.

Ana Guerrero said: “I don’t know what I like more: the dolphins, the narration in Llanito, or the impressive camera quality, hahaha.”
