A bear attacked a family car on a mountain road in a terrifying late-night ordeal.
The scary encounter took place while a father and son were travelling to a festival in a neighbouring village.
The driver slowed down as he approached the animal.

The spooked bear moved to the side of the road while the dad and his 17-year-old son stopped to look.
The animal then charged at the car, swiping at the headlights before retreating and attacking again.
It eventually disappears down an embankment.
The pair came across the bear on a mountain rural road in Pesaguero, southwest of Santander in Spain, at around 11pm on Saturday (31 Aug)
The encounter took place during a period of increased bear sightings and livestock attacks in the area.

Local farmer Pedro Álvarez said a bear killed eight of his 10 sheep in a fenced pen in July.
Álvarez, who was attacked by a bear in November 2022 while trying to protect his cattle, said the two surviving sheep were later found several miles away.
He claimed that bears kill several of his animals every week, as reported by What’s The Jam.

Another farmer in Cantabria stated that “no one wants to come to our village” after a bear reportedly killed several of his goats in July.
Meanwhile, a beekeeper in Pesaguero said bears destroyed several empty beehives that he was keeping on his driveway to be cleaned on 19 June.
His home is situated just 200 feet from the town square.
The honey farmer believes his property was invaded by a mother bear and her two cubs.
In the last 25 years, there have been at least 12 reported bear attacks on humans in Spain.
